Welcome to my shell build save file! This is where I build shells of houses & other buildings in The Sims 4 and make them available to anyone who wants to make them theirs. All builds included in this save file will be on the gallery. You can find me on the gallery by looking for the username crochetjessica.
Use #crochetjessica in your lot description if you have used one of my builds & edited it. Please don't claim the original as your own and re-upload it. I'm not going to police the gallery for folks not tagging me. I forget to tag occasionally. Or it's a sim from Cupids Corner that ends up being with a legacy heir and I have no idea who made the sim. I just really want to see what you have come up with using my lots & sims.
Why Am I Doing This?
Ever since I began playing Sims 4, I've wanted to fill worlds with shells and community lots. The thought of deleting all existing lots and sims was overwhelming, which prevented me from pursuing this goal. Then I discovered SrslySim's blank save file—and everything changed.
What Is A Shell?
A shell is exactly what it sounds like—the outer structure of a building. It typically consists of just the exterior walls that define the shape of the house. There are usually no interior walls to mark where rooms are, no roofs, and no stairs. In my shells, however, I add roofs and interior walls for at least the bathrooms and/or bedrooms. I also typically include landscaping.
Things to keep in mind:
- I will only use base game with the pack the world came with. No other packs. Sometimes, it’ll just be base game shell – depends on my mood and what there is in the shell. If the pack didn’t come with a world, it won’t be used (Bowling, Little Campers, Home Chef Hustle, etc).
- You CAN delete/add/change anything on the lot. These are just a base for you to give you inspiration.
- Everything has been play tested and works. With that being said, I did use MoveObjectsOn (MOO) cheat so things may not always place how I had them and/or will make a certain area unusable. How to use the MoveObjectsOn cheat: open the cheat console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C (or Command + Shift + C on Mac, or all four shoulder buttons on consoles). Then, type bb.moveobjects on and press Enter.
- If the shell is in a world that came with a feature I will try to add at least 1 lot that you can make into that feature. Example: Business & Hobbies – Nordhaven – Will have at least 1 residential lot that can be turned into a small business.
- There is ONE exception – apartments. The bigger lots need to have something done to them. I will set it up for you to make them apartments but it will stay a residential lot.
- Evergreen Harbor:
I have no idea if I will upgrade Evergreen Harbor. This will probably be one of the last worlds done due to that feature. I have upgraded this world as of September 15, 2025!
- There will be no sims/families in the save with the exception of my Sim-self as it is needed for the game to work properly. Once you make a sim (or add one) you can delete my sim.
- Lots will more then likely not have the same lot name they where given by Maxis. I will try to keep it inspired by the lot name however.
- I will only update any file regarding my shell save once a world is complete. You can find out when it was updated but the file name. It should be Slot_MMDDYYYY.save. MM would be the month in number format, DD would be the day in number format, & YYYY would be the year in a 4 number format. You can change the numbers to anything you want once you’ve downloaded it.
- I cannot separate each world into it’s own file. Sims 4 just doesn’t work that way. If you update your save file save, add your lots into your library (add them to the gallery in case something happens to your game or computer if you want), then add them back to your game once you’ve updated. You must update this yourself – there is no program to do it for you.
- Before updating – if you have families connected in anyway look on Google on how to move your families. They will not transfer to a new save file automatically. You must do it manually.
- I have no set time to do any world, finish any world, or this save file. This is a thing I do in my spare time (or when I can’t sleep). I don’t expect anyone to use this, but I am making it available for others to use.
- If your game crashes due to this save file I am not responsible for any damages. I shouldn’t have to say that, but there are folks who do not understand this is a ‘Do at your own risk’ situation. That being said, there are no viruses, etc in this file. If your game crashes, etc it usually has to do with your computer and/or the Sims4 itself. Needless to say BACK UP YOUR SAVES!
